Hoopla XXII - Postponement Announcement

The last few months have tested our organization and has been a situation that we never anticipated. We have tried as hard as we can to find a path where we can have Hoopla on our originally planned dates. It has become increasingly tougher to find that path based on guidelines put in place by our state, specifically:
  • "This guidance applies to counties approved for Phase 2. This guidance applies to recreational sports practice, training and play for specified sports. Sports that involve participants coming into bodily contact are prohibited at this time." (Oregon Health Authority)
  • Gathering limits are 50 people indoors, and 100 people outdoors. (Governor's Office)
  • Indoor and outdoor venues, including theaters and churches, with 6 feet of physical distancing and other measures in place, can reach a Covid-19 occupancy limit of up to 250. (Governor's Office)
The legislature held a special session in late June, and we were hopeful that there would be a shift that would allow us to hold the event on our planned dates of August 8-9. The outcome that we were hoping for did not happen at that special session.

So, we have now been put in a position where we need to POSTPONE (not cancel) Hoopla XXII to a later date.

We have an outline for an amazing Plan B but are not yet to the point where we can share those plans.  In the meantime, you can take advantage of our "worry-free" registration anytime you like... or you can just wait for our upcoming announcement with Hoopla XXII dates and details to sign up your team.
We know that this postponement is difficult for many as Hoopla is a bright spot in everyone's summer. Trust that we are doing everything possible to make our event amazing for everyone involved as we move forward, and we are excited about the future and will share details soon!
